GPS Receivers on Loan |
| Our GPS Receivers are now available for checkout to students, faculty, and staff. There is even an online calendar app you can use to check on their availability. Checkout periods are 1 week. All but one of the receivers are DeLorme Earthmate PN-20s, a model whose greatest feature is the ability to load aerial imagery before you traipse out into the field. The Libraries purchased the 1GB SD card reader+Topo USA 7.0 package to accompany the receiver itself, meaning there should be no dearth of data available to take with you. There is also one Holux M-1000 wireless gps receiver (not a standard hand-held) Anyone interested in checking out one or more of the receivers can come into the EAS Library (2215 CIVL) and ask for them.
More details about the checkout process (including a graphical checklist of included items) can be found here. |

Oversized Document/Image Scanners |
| The four lab machines (3 GIS, 1 for Map Room) all have scanners attached; two oversized flatbeds, one standard size flatbed, and one free-standing oversize scanner that can roll pages as large as 42" through its drum (meaning: no fragile items, please). These are open for public use and there should be plenty of software on the client computer to work with the results of your scan. |
