Name: Hendrix, Thomas
Historical Note: Thomas F. Hendrix was a student at Purdue during the World War II era. His enrollment at Purdue was due to the University’s involvement in the Navy V-12 program that was started in 1943, and was renamed the NROTC after the conclusion of the war. Hendrix was enrolled at Purdue towards the end of the war, and graduated in 1947 with a Bachelor of Science in Forestry. While at Purdue, Hendrix was also a member of Sigma Nu, whose members at that time were typically affiliated with the military. In his last semester at Purdue, Hendrix was injured in the bleacher collapse of February 24, 1947 at a home basketball game.
