Historical Note: Dewitt Buchanan graduated from Purdue in 1898 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was and continued to be an avid Purdue sports fan until he passed away at the age of 101 in 1978. During his four years at Purdue the football team had winning seasons every year - won 22, lost 9, tied 3.
