<p> <span style="font-size: small; font-family: times new roman,times;"> <span>Merl William Tillson was born in Richmond, Ind. He received degrees from Earlham College and the University of Denver. He served as a pilot in the Navy Air Command during World War II.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small; font-family: times new roman,times;">Mr. Tillson's wife was Juanita and they had one son together, Steve.<br /></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small; font-family: times new roman,times;"><span> Prof. Tillson began work at Purdue University in the English Department in 1950 and left Purdue in 1964. He was a professor of English at Metropolitan State College in Denver for 13 years, retiring in 1985. <br /> </span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small; font-family: times new roman,times;">Mr. Tillson passed away at the age of seventy on October 30.</span></p>
