Collection Overview
Scope and Contents of the Materials
Collection consists of three folders which contain publications by Claude Kegerreis.
Biographical Note
Claude S. Kegerreis was a Research Associate in the Engineering Experiment Station. The studies in carburetion made a substantial contribution to engineering science. It was stated that in Indiana alone, if the findings applied, motorists would save a million dollars a year in fuel costs. A result followed that was both fortunate and unfortunate but, in any event, encouraging. The automobile industry so badly wanted the talents of the research men, offering higher salaries that the university could not afford to keep all of them on staff.
