Biographical Note
Elton Hocking was a Professor of Modern Languages at Purdue University. He was appointed Head of the Department of Modern Languages in 1947, and served in that capacity until 1962. In 1970 Professor Hocking was promoted to Professor Emeritus of Modern Language Education.
