Scope and Contents of the Materials
Papers of William Latta, Purdue professor. William Carroll Latta is recognized as the Father of Agriculture and Extension at Purdue University. He was Purdue's 13th faculty member, joining the university in 1882. He started the four-year undergraduate program, founded the Farmers' Institutes, and began on-farm research.
