Scope and Contents of the Materials
The Joseph Modrey Papers document Professor Modrey's undergraduate and postgraduate mechanical engineering classes and research at Purdue University from the mid-1960s to the mid-1980s and include Modrey's research and reports regarding the use of creativity in the field of mechanical engineering. Types of materials include class notes, diagrams, clippings, and reports.
Biographical Note
Joseph Modrey (1916-2005) joined Purdue University's Mechanical Engineering faculty in 1965. He earned a BSME in 1937 and a MSME in 1983 from Columbia University. In 1964, Modrey received his doctorate in engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic. Modrey retired in 1986 with the title of Professor Emeritus.
