Abstract

Collection of artifacts including certificates, photographs, photo albums, Purdue registration papers, a drafting kit, glasses, a clarinet, and a diploma all belonging to Arthur Harter Fisher.

Scope and Contents of the Materials

The Arthur H. Fisher papers (1916-1955; 1.4 cubic feet) contain artifacts, certificates, a diploma, photographs, and miscellaneous items from the years Arthur Fisher spent as a Purdue University student from 1916-1920. There are some items that Fisher obtained after his tenure as a student, such as alumni loyalty certificates. All of the artifacts are contained in three acid-free boxes and acid-free folders. This collection would be very valuable to anyone interested in student life at Purdue University during the early 20^th century or the Purdue Military Band.

Biographical Note

Arthur Harter Fisher, “Art” to his friends, was a Purdue student from 1916 to 1920. He graduated June 9, 1920 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture. While at Purdue he was a member of the Agricultural Society, the Purdue Athletic Association (P.A.A.), and the Purdue University Military Band. The 1920 Debris lists his hometown as being Ossian, IN. No further information is known at this time.
