Abstract

Facsimiles and pictorial material documenting the American Revolution and Civil War eras. Also includes newspapers documenting Lafayette during 1885-1886.

Scope and Contents of the Materials

The Collection of Miscellaneous Facsimiles and Pictorial materials (1835-1951; 0.2 cubic feet) is an artificial collection that documents the American Revolution and Civil War eras through facsimiles of documents including the Emancipation Proclamation and the Declaration of Independence. The collection also features facsimiles of The Comet newspaper documenting Lafayette during 1885-1886. Types of materials include: document and facsimiles, a painting facsimile, and a political cartoon.

Collection Historical Note

Collection transferred from old Map Case to Flat Files and was later reorganized into three folders. Original provenance is currently unknown.
