Collection Overview
Abstract
Broadsides documenting events, groups, and student life at Purdue.
Scope and Contents of the Materials
The Lauren Roth collection of Purdue University broadsides (2009; 0.2 cubic feet) documents Purdue campus life and culture as well as marketing strategies of various campus groups, including Purdue University itself. It is predominantly composed of campus group callout broadsides, as well as broadsides advertising various events. The collection was created in HONR 199 Living History as a way to understand Purdue in the present day and curated by Lauren Roth. Notations on the back document the location of the broadside when it was found by the member of the class and the date of the finding. The collection also includes an essay by Roth for class analyzing the collection. Types of materials include: broadsides and an essay. The Broadsides are organized into a single series chronologically with preference to the date found (noted on back), then to the date of the event advertised. One oversized broadside is separated into its own series.
