The Purdue University Campus Maps collection, located in the Virginia Kelly Karnes Archives and Special Collections, Purdue University Libraries details the growth of the Purdue University campus through the numerous campus maps, beginning with 1908 and ending with the most recent map.The map collection also provides an assortment of maps which focus on the unique features on campus. Since Purdue first opened for classes in September 1874, the University has been dedicated to "making higher education available to the people." Purdue daily continues its efforts to modify both attitudinal and structural barriers to allow students with disabilities full advantage of their right to an education.
The campus accessibility guides found in this collection detail special facilities such as wheelchair-accessible restrooms, ramps, and elevators, to help those with physical disabilities find their way around campus. The guide also points to the many services available to those with disabilities.
