Scope and Contents of the Materials
The Purdue Artifact collection (1880-2000, 8 cubic feet) documents different historical aspects of Purdue University. Each artifact has been given a unique number and then organized by size, and sometimes format, in boxes. The items are of various sizes in various formats, but all have a Purdue connection. Some examples are a salt and pepper shaker set, handkerchief, window decals, and silver tea spoons.
This is an active collection and will be frequently added to on an ongoing basis

- Gold colored spoon with Purdue University seal at the top of the handle, words "1869, Purdue Univ" along front side of the spoon handle, word "sterling" is on the back of the handle, circa 1940s-1960s. Purchased on eBay, March 2008 (4 ½ x 1 x ½")

- Black felt pennant with the word “PURDUE” in yellow across it. Circa 1950s-1970s, (2 ¼ x 4 ¼ x 1/16”). Purchased from eBay March 2008.

- Copper colored metal charm in the shape of a football with the word “Purdue” on either side. ca. 1940s-1960s (½ x ¾ x 3/8”). Purchased from eBay March 2008
- Item 5: ART 133, Acacia Fraternity dance card, Dec. 1948

- “Purdue Chapter of Acacia Fraternity Pledge Dance”; dance card has two metal covers, gold in color; Front cover is decorated and has a hole cut out in the center revealing a gold triangle; covers are attached with two metal rings and have a gold and black thread decorating them; has four paper pages. Dec. 1948 (3 x 2 x 1/8”). Purchased from eBay March 2008
- Item 6: ART 134, Interfraternity Ball program., Jan. 1949

- Program has a wooden front cover with a metal decoration of a discus thrower, the back cover is made of heavy paper; the covers are attached by two metal rings which are decorated with yellow and black thread; the program consists of 8 pages.
