Scope and Contents: Two volumes of "letter books," (approximately 900 letters each). The first volume covers a wide variety of subjects, but primarily are responses to requests to purchase wheat and other seeds from the Agricultural Experiment Station or responses to farming questions about crops, fertilizers, and animal care. Includes mention of the "Manada Purdue" and "Purduette" heifers and specifications for building a greenhouse for the Experiment Station, along with information on hiring a farm foreman, purchasing animals, and establishing a short course in agriculture at Purdue. Responses to questions about books and courses on veterinary science are included. The second volume contains primarily carbon copies of outgoing typed or handwritten letters from William C. Latta, head of the Farmers' Institute at Purdue.
