Theodora Andrews was born in Tippecanoe county and graduated from West Lafayette High School in 1939. She remembers early staff members at Purdue Libraries: Eleanor Commack, Margaret Sullivan, Esther Schlunt. At that time the director of Purdue Libraries was John Moriarty. She also describes the early departmental libraries: Pharmacy library, Chemistry library, and the library in the Agriculture Experiment Station. After receiving her Master’s degree in Library Science Andrews became a librarian in the general library at Purdue and then served as the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences librarian. Andrews was an active member of the Special Libraries Association at the state and national level, as well as the Medical Library Association.
