Name: Hatt, William K.
Fuller Form: William Kendrick Hatt

Historical Note: William K. Hatt was Head of the Civil Engineering Department at Purdue University from 1906-1937. He was known as one of the prominent engineers of the Middle West. He was a consulting engineer for the great World War Memorial in Indianapolis, and was an authority and author in the field of testing materials. He was a director of the Advisory Board of Highway Research of the National Research Council, which brought about many radical changes and improvements in highway construction. "Doc" was widely informed outside the field of technical subjects.
